    Work Experience

    We offer work experience placements for students looking to gain practical animal care experience with the Livestock Team.

    Roles available

    We offer both short-term and long-term farm work experience. Students attend Monday-Friday for 1-3 weeks.

    Both roles will be given a full farm induction, including health and safety procedures and are covered by the Farm’s insurance.

    In line with our Safeguarding Policy and Procedures, students need to be aged 14+ for weekday placements.

    Please note, we are a small 2-acre farm in London and are not able to offer accommodation, travel or food expenses.

    Due to limited admin time we’re not able to hold a waiting list and don’t reserve weeks for schools or organisations, individuals must contact us directly.

    Eligibility

    Are you 14 years old or above?*
    You must be 14+ for weekday placements. If you don't meet the age requirements, take a look at our Children & Young People page for other ways to get involved.
    Do you live in the UK?*
    In line with our funding we are only able to offer places to those in the UK and prioritise Southwark Council residents.
    Are you able to work independently with minimal supervision?*
    Are you aware we're a working farm and that some of our animals, that you'll be helping to care for, will be reared for meat?*

    Which week(s) would you like to book?*
    We only take bookings up to around six months ahead. If weeks aren't showing within the next six months, then it means we're fully booked and we don't hold a waiting list. Please only tick the week(s) you are able to attend (max three weeks per person).

    Please be aware that volunteers will be expected to engage with members of the public who are coming to visit, as well as helping with animal handling sessions for adults and children.
